Most multi-surface sprays rely on alcohol, ammonia or butyl glycol to cut grime fast. Those solvents give off the sharp fumes you smell when you spray, and can dull polished and lacquered finishes over time. Disinfecting sprays add quats, which leave a film that streaks on glass.
